Kinetic City - Short film
Over the summer we were requested to produce a film on our design thesis propsal. I produced this first film about the Kinetic city. From my reseach conducted over the summer into how the city expands to allow unforseen occurances to happen. I tried to show how the Kinetic city inhabits my chosen area of study Colaba. I chose to restrict myself to Colaba, as I had already been to parts of the ward during the previous visit. I was fascinated how the area, one of the oldest parts had developed over time.
I was also interested from a visit to the ruins lust exhibition in London. In Colaba there is a derelict mill building that I was planning on investigating further.
Feedback:
Intial feedback from this film was that I hadnt narrowed down the topic to a particular set of people or questioned a topic far enough to become my overall Thesis topic.
I was told to choose one of the situations shown in the film to begin my research into.

Preperation for Mumbai Exhibtion
Once we had returned from our Summer holidays, we were informed that a planned trip back to Mumbai was to take place in Novemeber 2014. We were also told that the tutors were proposing to told an Exhibtion in Mumbai. They had an idea of the space that they wanted to create and asked students to produced 3 meter long drawings of either last years work (MArch 2) or current work (MArch 1).
Sarah and Doreen asked if I was able to produce a sheet for both last years work and this years work.
This meant that I had to start organising very particularly what topic I was going to choose for this years thesis project.
I started to research into the Kolis (fishing) community that lived and worked in Colaba. I wanted to created a composite drawing, storeyboard of my ideas for what changes may be needed. This storeyboard could translate into a film afterwards.
Feedback:
Creating the two boards is time consuming. I am wanting to proceed with ideas for my new project but having to organise a sheet of the previous years work is hard as many of my orginal files have corrupted. I am having to produce an axonometric drawing that I had not had time to finish for the end of year 1.
One advantage of looking back at the previous years work though is to re-engage with the Mumbai. Watching footage that I had taken and the project that occured from it. I also learnt some new techniques with the axonometric that I can use in this years work.
To achieve what I wanted I had to create a CAD map of the area
